Role Purpose:

  • An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Construction Lead working at the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
  • The Construction Lead will be reporting to the site Project Manager, to oversee the Construction Management Team for the construction & commissioning phases of the project.

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively driving an embedded HS&E culture to create a continually progressive safety culture.
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
  • Representing the client at daily whiteboard and weekly construction meetings.
  • Regular updates to the client’s management team on construction progress, schedule, costs, risks and mitigations.
  • Assessing the construction management team and contractor project plans; inputting to the company end to end project schedule.
  • Liaising with the project Cost Manager in the assessment and approval of progress payment applications, remeasures, claims, and final accounts.
  • Ensuring that construction is delivered in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures and Engineering Specifications.
  • Input to constructability, quality and contamination control reviews.
  • Planning to ensure that construction activities deliver a ‘right first time’ philosophy.
  • Pre-screening technical queries prior to escalation to the appropriate site, consultant or architect SME’s as necessary.

 

Education & Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar.
  • Experience in the management of pharmaceutical / biotechnology projects; or similar large projects.
  • Personal accountability for project cost management; safety management; quality management; systems turnover.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
  • Computer literate; familiar with MS office suite and Primavera Project Planner.
