Process Engineer – Co. Cork

Role Summary:

• An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Engineer to join our client’s busy site located in Co. Cork.
• Reporting to the Global Engineering Design Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for process/design engineering capability required to delivery of the strategic capital agenda and key global programs and initiatives for the company.
• The role will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of significant programs critical to the company’s future success.
• Key challenges will be leveraging key learnings, best practices, new technology, problem solving and innovative design solutions to deliver a complex capital agenda while ensuring alignment and input from all key stakeholders.
• This role offers the option of hybrid working.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Process Engineering capability specializing in process design solutions for the company’s food and beverage Manufacturing Platforms
• Ensure new & existing products/formulas are manufactured to site standards and consumer expectations
• Lead the design of key Strategic Capital Programs and Initiatives
• Develop designs incorporating innovative solutions and leverage new technology to deliver value to the business
• Develop and leverage best practices from the company’s divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in plant and equipment design.
• Provide technical guidance during project design and implementation, including Commissioning & Process Qualification, to assure viability of technology in proposed configuration
• Utilize Engineering first principles, scientific methods, and processing systems knowledge to develop technical process equipment solutions that both create new business opportunities and solve existing equipment needs.
• Develop sustainable engineering practices and programmes ensuring sustainability in plant design and operation.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree qualification in Chemical, Process, or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4-5 years process industry experience in liquids and powders processing & overall plant manufacturing engineering required.
• Extensive design & project management experience
• Experience required in the following areas:
  • Application of technical standards
  • Hygienic design
  • Process safety
  • Management of projects from concept level, front end design & detail design
  • Business case and capital approval
  • Design, Procurement and Installation
  • Construction, Commissioning and Validation
  • Environmental, health and safety management
  • Contractor and Construction Management
  • Team management with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
