  • Senior Process Engineer – Kilkenny

     

    Role Purpose:

     

    • We are currently recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join the engineering team within our design projects for Bio-pharmaceutical, API and Food Science manufacturing facilities, delivering both concept, front end & detail design engineering activities.
    • To manage activity planning, work scheduling, assigning responsibilities to the team, and ensuring deliverables can be met.

     

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • To lead projects from concept to detailed design through to implementation and execution.
    • Coordination of the Process Design Team to achieve project deliverables
    • Lead Technical and Safety reviews
    • Develop and participate in HAZOP’s and the resolution of HAZOP action items.
    • Be aware of new technology and possible future technologies under development to enable proposal of innovative solutions to client requirements.
    • Manage the teams involved with the development and control of P&ID’s.
    • Development & control of equipment and line lists.
    • Verification of all Line, Equipment (thermal & pump), pressure relief device sizing calculations.
    • Liaising with other discipline personnel to ensure smooth project running.
    • Technical input and support for Process Design Team
    • Manage the delivery of design scopes that are within budgeted hours and ensure that projects are executed and delivered on schedule.
    • Coordination of design with other design disciplines and equipment suppliers.
    • Develop and leverage best practices from the company’s in-house capabilities as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in plant and equipment design.
    • Develop sustainable engineering initiatives.
    • Review of Clients tender documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of design & calculations.
    • Developing process solutions for client’s new product introductions.
    • Interfacing with client design team/end user
    • Lead the design of client’s key Strategic Capital Programs and initiatives.
    • Preparation & Issue of RFQ’s, evaluation of vendor’s quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
    • Review and approval of vendor documentation and handover manuals.
    • Analyse the specification of process equipment and technical bids from vendors, ensuring compliance with the requirements.
    • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
    • Execution of equipment/qualification validation programs; including re-qualification and re-validation
    • Design/Author/Review/Approve/Execute qualification/validation documentation and studies in line with the standard approval processes, regulations and client requirements.

     

    Education & Qualifications Required:

     

    • BE in Chemical Engineering or related curriculum.
    • Minimum 8 years as a Process Engineer in an engineering design office or 8 years as a Project Engineer in a biopharmaceutical / API manufacturing facility.
    • Advanced report, standards, and policy writing skills required.
    • Skills in working to deadlines, planning, team leadership, motivating and developing subordinates.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Highly organised and an ability to work on own initiative.
    • Computer literate especially on Excel, PowerPoint, word and related engineering design software.
    • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
    • Excellent project management skills and delegation ability.
    • Must have a flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to effectively train and develop others.
    • A team builder with good strategic perspective who possess strong influencing skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and work with colleagues and customers.
