Role Summary:

  • The Project Engineer reporting to the Capital Projects Manager is responsible for:
  • The implementation of engineering projects through full life cycle in compliance with site quality systems, cGMP, and applicable regulatory expectations (HPRA/FDA).
  • Managing 3rd party contractors in the execution of capital projects.
  • Ownership of budget and schedule for capital projects.
  • Liaise with 3rd party engineering companies to ensure delivery of capital projects.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initial scope of work for this Project Engineer will be to deliver several investment projects on site with specific focus on HVAC heat recovery system, Heat pump(s), chillers etc.
  • The Project Engineer will liaise, where necessary, with external engineering companies to complete design and execution.
  • Maintain strict budgetary control, while adhering to agreed schedules.
  • Manage procurement activities associated with projects, inclusive of tendering, Purchasing and Invoice management.
  • Lead cross functional teams in development and execution of projects.
  • Prepare/support commissioning and qualification documentation and execution per site procedures.
  • Adhere to safe working practices as set out in the safety statement and other company safety rules.
  • Control and monitor safe working practices of contractors on site.
  • Participate fully in any cross-functional training initiatives.
  • Drive and promote the corporate values within the workplace.
  • Actively foster, in cooperation with other staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an integral part of the overall business. Ensure that Accident Reports / Near Miss Forms are completed in a timely manner after an event.
  • Ensure timely completion of all SOP reading, training and assessment.
  • Other duties as required and directed by the Capital Projects Manager or any other Officer appointed by the Board of Directors.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • A 3rd level degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required.
  • 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical project / program management.
  • Excellent project management skills, Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent PM qualification is a plus.
  • Ability to plan workload and work to tight timelines.
  • Ability to communicate with Site Management, all Engineering disciplines, EHS, Production, and Quality personnel.
  • Good understanding of best practice safety procedures and standards applicable to construction and installation work.
