Role Summary:

  • A new vacancy has arisen for an Analytical Chemist. Our client, a state-of-the-art drug substance and drug product manufacturing facility based in Co. Tipperary, is looking for an Analytical Chemist to support their team at the facility.
  • The Analytical Chemist will provide analytical testing support for late-stage clinical and commercial drug products within a pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
  • The role involves testing raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using approved analytical and pharmacopoeia methods while ensuring compliance with GMP and laboratory standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical testing using approved laboratory and pharmacopoeia methods.
  • Test raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation and records.
  • Review analytical results to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Plan and prioritise daily laboratory testing activities to meet timelines.
  • Prepare and revise laboratory procedures, protocols, and reports.
  • Participate in laboratory investigations and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Input and manage data within computerised laboratory systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
  • Assist with the introduction and validation of new analytical methods and techniques.
  • Train and support laboratory staff where required.
  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete additional tasks as required to support business needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Sc. degree (or equivalent experience) in:
    • Analytical Chemistry
    • Pharmaceutical Science
    • Chemistry
    • Or a related scientific discipline
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP laboratory environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and laboratory equipment operation.
  • Understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
