Role Summary:
- A vacancy has arisen for the role of a Junior Maintenance Planner at our client’s busy pharmaceutical site in Co. Kildare.
- The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient, proactive planning & scheduling of maintenance tasks.
- They act as the central link between engineering, technicians, stores & production.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Weekly Maintenance Planning
- Build and maintain plan of preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Create and manage weekly/daily maintenance schedules
- Prioritize jobs with Plant Engineer, based on safety, asset criticality, backlog, and operational needs
Work Order Management (CMMS)
- Review Approved, Confirmed and In Planning WOs daily
- Ensure all work orders have clear scope, priority, duration, and parts.
- Maintain data accuracy and compliance within the CMMS
Parts, Tools & Job Kitting
- Coordinate with stores to ensure parts and consumables are available before scheduling
- Pre-kit jobs where possible
- Flag long-lead or special-order items to engineers or procurement
- Source parts, obtain quotes for ordering
- Raise purchase orders when required
Documentation
- Maintain standard job plans for routine PMs.
- Update CMMS when required.
- Link all drawings, OEM manuals, and service reports to CMMS
Support Shutdown & Project Planning
- Assist with planning and sequencing of shutdown jobs
- Coordinate cross-functional resource availability
- Book vendors for Eng shutdown tasks while ensuring inductions, RAMS and MS are in place.
Data Integrity & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse CMMS data: PM compliance, backlog aging, schedule adherence
- Identify trends or areas for improvement on maintenance processes
- Suggest changes to PM frequency, task content & work instructions.
Cross-Team Communication & Escalation
- Attend and contribute to daily and weekly planning meetings
- Communicate schedule changes and job priorities to technicians and managers
- Escalate delays, resource conflicts, or incomplete jobs to Technician Manager
Tools & Systems Used:
- CMMS (EAMS)
- MS Excel / Planning Dashboards
- Microsoft Teams / Outlook / SharePoint
- Technical drawings, job plan libraries, P&IDs
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business required.
- Ability to create, prioritize, and manage maintenance schedules, including preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance.
- Understands asset basics, task durations, and trades
- Clear communication with technicians, engineers, stores, and ops. Effectively communicate maintenance plans, schedules, and updates to various stakeholders
- Can balance reactive vs proactive needs under pressure
- Comfortable in CMMS, Excel and digital scheduling tools
- Works closely with engineers and peer planners to share resources
