Role Summary:

  • We have an immediate requirement for a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineer to join as part of an established engineering design team.
  • This is a senior-level role offering the opportunity to lead the full project lifecycle, from concept development through detailed design and construction support.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of E&I engineering solutions from concept to completion across multiple projects.
  • Ensure all electrical designs are fully compliant with current ETCI regulations and relevant codes, including ATEX standards.
  • Manage the E&I design team to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of project work.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs with various departments to develop integrated instrumentation specifications and electrical systems.
  • Develop the electrical design standards within the organisation.
  • Delivery of wiring diagrams and loop sheets to IFC design standards.
  • Liaise with clients, architects and project managers to verify that projects are following required schedules and budgets.
  • Support the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Conduct site surveys, verify design implementation, and monitor quality of installations.
  • Drive adherence to company Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to internal design standards and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher; ideally in Electrical / Instrument Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an E&I Engineer, with demonstrable leadership on multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Project Management Experience is required.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications, Revit & AutoCAD
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated environments as an E&I Engineer.
  • Design and specification of E&I services for various types of buildings and sectors with LV/MV design background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid experience developing specifications and design of E&I systems for a range of projects.
  • Strong experience with all ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
  • Design Co-ordination experience across disciplines.
