Role Purpose:

  • We have an immediate requirement for a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our pharmaceutical client’s new expansion site in Co. Cork.
  • This is a senior-level role offering the opportunity to lead the E&I delivery during tendering, construction stage and commissioning phases.

Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate all Electrical & Instrumentation activities through commissioning.
  • Manage the E&I project budget, monitoring costs, reviewing contractor progress, evaluating variations and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Coordinate the installation and commissioning of temporary electrical supplies, MV/LV distribution systems, MCC rooms, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Oversee the installation and verification of lightning protection, earthing and bonding systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate IT and communications infrastructure installations.
  • Manage receipt verification of E&I equipment and materials.
  • Review and approve contractor documentation ensuring compliance with project and safety standards.
  • Review, coordinate and approve E&I test packs.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings, supporting successful project execution.

Qualifications and Knowledge required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher; ideally in Electrical / Instrument Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an E&I Engineer, with demonstrable leadership on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Project Management Experience is required.
  • ATEX Experience is required.
  • API or similar experience is beneficial.
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated environments as an E&I Engineer.
  • Design and specification of E&I services for various types of buildings and sectors with MV/LV design background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid experience analysing specifications of E&I systems for a range of projects.
  • Strong experience with all ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
