Project Control Lead

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Project Control Lead for a large greenfield project with a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in County Cork.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Budget Planning & Integration

• Assist in preparing the project budget based on scope, schedule, and contract.
• Develop and align cost breakdown structures (CBS) aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Track approved budgets into cost control (SAP) systems.

Cost Monitoring & Control

• Track actual costs vs. budget
• Monitor commitments and accruals.
• Identify cost variances and provide variance analysis.
• Forecast Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).
• Support change management and variation tracking.

Contract & Procurement Support

• Review subcontractor invoices and validate progress claims.
• Track purchase orders and commitments.
• Monitor contract values vs. approved budgets.
• Assist in commercial evaluations.

Risk & Change Management

• Support risk identification related to cost impact.
• Maintain contingency tracking.
• Analyze financial impact of scope changes.
• Assist with claims analysis and documentation.

Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with:
• Project Manager
• Planning/Scheduling Engineer
• Procurement Team
• Finance Department
• Provide financial guidance for decision-making.

Education & Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, ideally in a related Science or Engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 10 yrs experience  in a project leadership role.
• Must have previous project experience in project cost control.
• Experience in industries such as construction, pharma, oil & gas, or infrastructure required.
