Role Summary:

  • Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Engineer specialising in Quality Control (QC) of equipment and instruments to join their pharmaceutical site in Co. Waterford.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing all IT aspects of the QC laboratory equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain QC laboratory equipment and instruments, including but not limited to HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, and automated analytical systems.
  • Ensure seamless integration of QC equipment with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other relevant IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all QC equipment, including installation guides, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance checks and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment is operating within specified parameters.
  • Collaborate with QC and IT departments to identify and implement improvements in equipment-related processes and data management systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to QC staff on the proper use of laboratory equipment and IT systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to QC equipment and IT systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for equipment purchase, servicing, and support.
  • Lead and participate in projects related to the upgrade and implementation of new QC equipment and IT solutions.
